HELIOS Scalp Cleanser & Hair Conditioning Concentrate
5 in stock
I wanted a concentrated, one-and-done product that was essentially skincare for itchy scalp, and a treatment for delicate hair. Helios was made for my medium-fine, wavy hair that tends to get really dry and damaged easily, but doesn't love heavy conditioners with oils and butters.
No other in-shower product needed for your hair... AND this is a concentrate, so one bottle is equal to about 3! Cleanse, soothe, stimulate and hydrate the scalp while gently cleansing, strengthening and conditioning fine hair (yes, even long, fine hair!).
Sunflower extracts nourish the scalp with vitamin F (helps topically with inflammation), polyphenols and antioxidants, while fortifying the hair's cortex, creating stronger, more resilient hair strands.
The most gentle, low-foam surfactants to cleanse scalp and hair using micelles, without stripping natural oils so scalp is cleansed without being irritated.
Light-yet-effective conditioners, panthenol (provitamin B5) and hydrolyzed oat protein keeps hair strong yet flexible, and never weighed down, with natural texture supported to live it's best life. This does not rough up the hair's cuticle, like many "volumizing" hair products do as that damages the hair long-term.
Please read the How-To-Use as this is not a conventional 2-in-1 or co-wash!
240 mL (8 oz) in a recycled, recyclable PET resin bottle and flip dispenser cap.
Who is it for
Fine to medium-fine wavy hair that hates being weighed down, needs a little extra TLC for the scalp and extra treatment for dry ends.
Scent: A fresh floral with a little green and a pinch of spice. A different take on rose and lavender.
Texture: Creamy, yellow goop. A little goes a long way!
How to use
Helios feels and acts differently than regular shampoos and conditioners. It does not foam like regular shampoo, and it does not make hair slimy like regular conditioner. You may feel like it's not doing anything at first (at least while you're in the shower!), so you'll just have to trust me on this! The results happen when your hair (air) dries.
The key is how you use it, so remember the double S&M when you're in the shower with Helios:
SOAK: Squeeze out a quarter sized glob, emulsify in wet hands and apply evenly onto a soaking wet scalp. As this is a concentrate, adequate water is vital for Helios to do it's job!
SATURATE: Make sure you work your hands through your scalp, then hair, quick and lightly, as if you are adding a lotion to your hair. Your scalp and hair needs to be saturate with just a light coat of Helios, but do make sure you get it all over.
MASSAGE: The most important step to getting your scalp clean is to really touch it! Carefully and thoroughly massage scalp with finger tips (NEVER nails) starting from the scalp, working your way to the crown, around your ears, then to the back of the head. This is a micellar cleanser, and will not produce a big lather.
Slide down hair shaft to deeply condition hair. Remember, hair won't feel slick and slimy, but trust the process!
MARINATE: Let product sit on hair for 5-10 minutes (or longer) to allow it to do it's thing.
For longer/thicker hair, apply an extra quarter-sized glob to mid-lengths, work it through gently, gliding downwards.
Not necessary to follow up with conditioner. This is not a leave-in product, please follow with Stark's hair serum AirJelly (when available).
Can be used daily.
For infrequent hair washers or if you use very heavy styling products, repeat process if absolutely necessary.
